Dinner Cruises

Dinner Cruise in Goa — All 7 Mandovi River Cruises from ₹850.

Seven dinner cruises on the Mandovi, from ₹850 per person — every one under ₹1,000. Book with ₹100 per person and pay the rest at the jetty.

A Goa dinner cruise is the easiest good evening in the state: two to three hours on the river, dinner on board, music, and the Panaji waterfront lit up as you pass it. Most boats leave from the Santa Monica Jetty in Panaji, a short ride from anywhere in North Goa.

GoaWala is an authorised booking partner of the cruise operators: the price on the card is what you pay, and your seat is confirmed the moment you book rather than after somebody calls you back.

  • Cancel later than that and the ₹100 per person and any pick-up charge are kept — nothing more is owed, because the rest is paid at the jetty.
  • If the boat cancels (weather or safety), you choose a full refund or a free move to another date or boat.
  • Prices run from ₹850 to ₹990 per person: the Coral is ₹850; the Calma, the Infinity, the Nirvana, the Princesa and the Swastik are ₹900; the Paradise is ₹990. The price for your date is on each boat's card.

What a Goa dinner cruise includes

The boats differ in size and polish, but the shape of the evening is much the same across all seven. Each listing spells out exactly what that particular cruise includes before you pay.

  • Two to three hours on the water, most of it on the Mandovi between Panaji and the Zuari confluence.
  • Dinner on board — usually a buffet with vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes.
  • Live music or a DJ, and on several boats a short Goan folk-dance set.
  • An open upper deck: this is where you actually want to be, and where the photographs happen.
  • A fixed departure time. Boats leave on time and do not wait — be at the jetty 30 minutes before departure.

Mandovi River dinner cruise route — what you see from the deck

Every boat sails the same stretch of the Mandovi: out from Panaji towards the river mouth, then back. Skippers turn at different points, and after dark you are watching lights more than buildings, but this is what is out there. Our Goa river cruise guide has the full route, jetties and rules; for sunset cruises and private yachts as well, see every cruise in Goa.

  • At the Santa Monica Jetty: the Mandovi bridges and the cable-stayed Atal Setu, lit up beside you as you board.
  • The Panaji riverfront, with the Adil Shah Palace (the Old Secretariat) on the city bank.
  • The offshore casino ships moored in the river — the brightest thing on the water at night.
  • Across the river, Betim and the 16th-century Reis Magos Fort on the northern bank.
  • Towards the mouth, Miramar, where the Mandovi opens into the Arabian Sea before the boat turns back.

Dinner cruise or sunset cruise — which one to book

They are different evenings at different prices, and people mix them up constantly.

A sunset cruise is shorter (about 90 minutes), cheaper (from ₹400), leaves in the golden hour and is about the light and the breeze. Snacks, not dinner. It suits families with small children and anyone with dinner plans afterwards.

A dinner cruise is about three hours, from ₹850, leaves later, and the meal and the music are the point. If you want one thing to fill the evening, book this one. If you want the view and then a table at a shack, book the sunset cruise.

Where the cruises leave from

Six of our seven dinner cruises board at the Santa Monica Jetty in Panaji, in Central Goa — about 40 minutes from Calangute or Baga, 20 from Panaji itself, and well over an hour from most of South Goa. The Swastik boards at Malim, Betim, in North Goa — each boat's page shows its boarding point on a map.

At the Santa Monica Jetty each boat has its own ticket counter. Show your GoaWala booking code at your boat's counter and pay the balance there, in cash or by UPI. Be there 30 minutes before departure.

Parking near the Santa Monica Jetty fills up on weekend evenings. A taxi or a rented two-wheeler drop-off is usually less trouble than driving yourself.

Dinner cruise with pick-up from Calangute, Baga, Candolim, Anjuna and Arpora

No car? Add shared pick-up and drop to any of the seven boats for ₹150 per person (₹200 on the Princesa). There are 19 stops between Anjuna and Sinquerim, and the drop brings you back to the stop you were picked up from after the cruise. Choose your stop when you book; the pick-up charge is paid online with your ₹100 per person, so the jetty collects only the cruise balance. Every stop and time: cruise with hotel pickup.

  • Pick-up 7:00–7:30 PM for the 9 PM boats; 6:00–6:30 PM for the Swastik (8:30 PM).
  • Anjuna: Starco Junction, Oxford Arcade, St. Michael's Church.
  • Arpora: Splashdown Waterpark Junction, DoubleTree Arpora Bridge, Saturday Night Market.
  • Baga: Baga Bridge, Fatima Store.
  • Calangute: Dolphin Circle, Post Office, St. Alex Church, St. Anthony's Chapel, Gauravaddo Junction.
  • Candolim and Sinquerim: Novotel / Holiday Street, Newton's, Delfino's, Candolim Church, Whispering Palms, Taj Holiday Village.

When to go

October to March is peak cruise season: dry evenings, calm river, every boat running. December and New Year are the busiest nights of the year and sell out days ahead — book early rather than turning up.

The monsoon months (roughly June to September) are the exception. River cruises are restricted or suspended when the water is rough, so availability thins out and sailings can be cancelled on the day for safety. If you are visiting in monsoon, check the calendar on the listing before you plan the evening around it.

How booking works

No enquiry forms, no waiting for a callback, no price that changes when you arrive.

  • Pick your experience and date — availability is live, not a request.
  • Enter how many of you are coming. The price you see is the price you pay, in rupees.
  • Pay ₹100 per person online by UPI or card; the rest is paid at the jetty when you board.
  • Your confirmation and booking code arrive straight away by email — show it on your phone when you arrive.
  • Need to change something? Message us on WhatsApp with your booking code.

Before you board

  • Be at the jetty 30 minutes before departure — boarding closes before the stated time.
  • Couples and families only: stag groups are not allowed on any of the seven boats.
  • Carry a photo ID. Some operators check it at the gangway.
  • Evenings on the river are breezier than the beach. Take a light layer between December and February.
  • Wear shoes you can walk a gangway in. Heels and wet decks do not mix.
  • Goa observes dry days on certain dates, when no alcohol is served anywhere, including on the boats.
